We produce bread and bakery products created with Hovis goodness at the heart of each. We deliver around 1.3million loaves, every day of the week throughout the UK and Ireland, where we also make Mothers Pride and Ormo products.
We are 2,800 people working within 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK. The Role:
To lead their bakery site in driving product quality and consistency through robust process control and the application of baking skills. To monitor conformance to the agreed process control points highlighting and addressing non-conformances within their control and working with the central process improvement team in the development and implementation of targeted improvement plans to continually improve product quality and consistency, including improvements in plant equipment, baking process/control and people capability. The functional expert within their site for the baking process.
To drive bakery process and recipe control to enable Hovis to deliver on its vision of delivering the best quality product every day, enabling growth in a sustainable way and creating superior value for its stakeholders.
- To ensure the consistent quality of our product through robust process control and management.
- To ensure our products consistently deliver the agreed quality
- To be the subject matter expert on the baking process at Site
- To drive the principles of the Quality Strategy and be the site ambassador for Quality
- To actively engage and drive process control and baking knowledge transfer to all operational teams/levels
Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a technical, operational or quality related role in industrial baking.
- Experience of managing, motivating and influencing teams.
- Commercial awareness: understanding cost of quality and manufacture. Understanding cost / benefit analysis.
- Excellent communication skills: Influential: Persuasive: Impactful verbal and written skills.
- Proven training and coaching capability.
Desirable:
- Health & safety qualification
- Food hygiene qualification
- Baker qualification
- Experience of new product trial and implementation
