Job summary
The Probation Service is looking to appoint a qualified Probation Officer or Social Worker. The Service will also consider applicants with a degree in a forensic science and who can demonstrate a minimum of five years working in the assessment and supervision of offenders.
The post holder will be required to provide a high quality information service to courts, prisons and parish hall enquiries. A significant part of the role will include the supervision of clients in the criminal justice system including those who are managed through public protection and safeguarding forums. The role will involve working with children and adults in the community and custodial settings. Recent experience of working within a criminal justice setting is highly desirable including accreditation in undertaking a range of assessment tools.
Applicants should possess highly developed written and analytical skills together with an ability to build positive relationships with clients that promotes rehabilitation and desistance from crime.
Regular evening work will be required.
We will be recruiting to a grade 10 or 11, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
