Are you creative and love print? An exciting opportunity has opened to join our Print Services department on our Grand Parade, City Campus, which is home to the School of Art and Media.
Our service provides our highly creative students and staff with advanced digital printing facilities using a range of professional printing and finishing equipment, supported with a large library of papers and media. Whether you’ll be printing zines for a craft fair or fine art photography for an exhibition, you will encounter something different every day.
You will have excellent customer service and communication skills, a passion for creative print, be comfortable using graphic software such as Adobe Creative Suite and able to build long-lasting relationships with students and staff to support their work.
The position requires independent working as it is a satellite service of our main print unit in Moulsecoomb, so being able to work independently is a must. You will be supported as required by a small team of student staff, colleagues at the main print unit and regular contact with the Print Services Supervisor.
To excel in this role, you will need to:
- Have excellent knowledge and experience operating print and finishing equipment.
- Have excellent working knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent, (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
This is a permanent post, working 37 hours a week over 39 weeks of the year. Working weeks will include all term-time weeks (https://www.brighton.ac.uk/about-us/news-and-events/term-dates/) and some weeks during vacation periods to support the main Print Service at our Moulsecoomb campus.
