We’re looking for multiple senior product managers to work on exciting Digital programmes across different teams in DLUCH

Elections Integrity Programme – delivering the biggest set of changes to our electoral system in the last twenty years, and the first change to the actual process of voting since the secret ballot was introduced in 1872.

Local Digital Programme – supports councils across England to deliver the local public services of the future.

Analysis and Data – creating and maintaining robust digital products and services for DLUHC’s analysts directorate to deliver high impact insights based on timely, relevant and trusted data.

Job description

As a senior product manager, you’ll;

  • Role-model how to apply agile working methods and practices to deliver the best product for end-users
  • Develop long-term product visions and objectives
  • Successfully lead teams through the full product life cycles through identifying tools and techniques for each stage and dealing with potential risks
  • Develop sustainable support models through contributing to the assessment of other teams
  • Make operations efficient, including being the escalation point for major operational issues and championing operational management across the team and wider Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) community
  • Work closely with operational delivery team leaders in DDaT to create, manage and update the product roadmaps on an on-going basis
  • Develop and implement testing, piloting, go-live and on-going evaluation plans of new product features and engage with users and stakeholders to encourage take-up and use of your product
  • Ensure systems and processes are set up to capture data on learner behaviour and product performance by leading show and tells and workshops on product and agile methodologies with a range of audiences

Person specification

As a senior product manager, you’ll have;

  • Experience of product management and/or product development, with creativity and passion for creating great digital products
  • Experience of leading in a multi-disciplined dispersed environment
  • Experience of creating, updating and prioritising product plans to direct the work of a delivery team
  • Familiarity with a range of agile delivery techniques and tools
  • Experience of engaging with users and turning user research into product improvements
  • Familiarity with setting, monitoring and reporting measurable product targets
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
  • Experience of working with partners/stakeholders

Grade 7 salary

  • The salary for this role is £54,632 (London) or £49,697 (National).

Fixed Term Details

Internal Fraud Database

The Internal Fraud function of the Fraud, Error, Debt and Grants Function at the Cabinet Office processes details of civil servants who have been dismissed for committing internal fraud, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned. The Cabinet Office receives the details from participating government organisations of civil servants who have been dismissed, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned, for internal fraud. In instances such as this, civil servants are then banned for 5 years from further employment in the civil service. The Cabinet Office then processes this data and discloses a limited dataset back to DLUHC as a participating government organisations. DLUHC then carry out the pre employment checks so as to detect instances where known fraudsters are attempting to reapply for roles in the civil service. In this way, the policy is ensured and the repetition of internal fraud is prevented.
