Worldpay From FIS’s Merchant Solutions Engineering branch specialises in delivering online payment services to our customers and are looking for Engineers to join our team and take our systems to the next level.
Operating within a collaborative SAFe environment, we strive to deliver effective solutions for our customers using our evolving payment platform.
WPAP (Worldpay Alternative Payments) is an integrated Payments, Accounting & Clearing platform, offering Customers and Shoppers access to international banks and payment services within a single virtual treasury.
Working across Cloud based platforms this growing team works closely to strive to deliver quality solutions in a timely manner.
What you will be doing
Working with the Development Manager and as part of the team you will be contributing with your own code to the team’s delivery while providing technical leadership, helping other team members and ensuring the team delivers following sound engineering principles of software craftmanship.
You will also strive to advance the department and wider Development community by actively contributing to forums and by identifying and suggesting improvements to working practices.
Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code at an accepted level of quality
Produce system requirements and estimates from business requirements
Proactively identify and suggest improvements and enhancements to working practices to team and department level
Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineering
Ensure the team delivers on its commitments by contributing to common team tasks like code reviews and deployments and by supporting other members of the team
Act as a technical contact point for the team, liaising with Architecture and other stakeholders on technical matters
Demonstrate a flexible approach necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and change
What you bring:
Proven experience and/or a genuine passion for software development.
Degree level education (in related subject of computing, math, science) or equivalent.
Team player with knowledge/practical application of agile methodologies
Track record in delivering work to schedule and to specification
Experience of Software development in C#, Cloud technologies and cloud tooling
Added bonus if you have:
Experience of working in a Cloud Development environment, including teams operating a “BRO” model
Experience of AWS, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
Experience of TDD and knowledge of BDD
Knowledge of web application security
Knowledge of T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server
