INTRODUCTION
Delta-T Devices is an established and growing business of over 30 employees with a four million plus annual turnover. We design, manufacture, and sell measurement instruments for environmental measurement and monitoring.
We specialise in soil moisture sensing technologies, and our comprehensive range of soil sensors and data loggers cater for a broad spectrum of environmental and commercial horticultural monitoring applications. These products are complemented by a range of meteorological sensors and image analysis products for plant science.
We use sub-contractors in our manufacturing processes. All PCBs are sub-contracted, and so are some newly designed products. Other products are generally assembled, tested & calibrated in-house.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Manufacturing Department Manager, you will be part of a product support team consisting of one other full time Product Support Engineer, plus three part time engineers.
Main Duties
- Provide a Product Support service to Manufacturing. This involves fault finding and resolving electronic product faults, finding alternative electronic parts and repairing failed products.
- Fault-find & carry out repairs.
- Introduce improvements to products.
- Assist New Product Introduction into Manufacture.
- Introduce improvements to product quality.
- Solve customer Technical Support problems.
- Work on product support projects.
- Assist with new product prototyping, test & introduction to Manufacture.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 4 years proven technical problem solving experience with electronic products and their manufacture.
- Degree in Electronics Engineering and experienced with PCB layout, schematic capture, testing, and debugging.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, sensors, and measurement technology.
- Experience with instrumentation, and basic understanding of mechanical, engineering, including CAD Drawing systems.

Additional qualities which we will be looking for in a Product Support Engineer are:
- Passion for providing a high level of support to both Manufacturing and our customers.
- Flexibility. Willing to turn a hand to repairs, production support and test equipment development.
- Problem solving. An understanding of relevant technology sufficient to enable the repair of problem products.
- Self-motivated and good at organising own workload.
- Excellent team player.
- Good manual skills.
- Effective communicator.
- Sympathetic to Delta-T Devices's co-operative organizational structure.
Pay
Up to £43K per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The normal working week will be 40 hours – 5-day week.
Working Hours
Delta-T Devices operates a managed flexi time system with core hours from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
