An exciting opportunity to be a key member of the Procurement Team to help deliver great value and outcomes for internal customers and residents.

Utilising your procurement knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills, in working collaboratively with colleagues across the Council.

Your role is essential - you’ll be empowered to lead on major procurement projects and provide advice to a range of stakeholders. From market analysis through to contract award and beyond. We are also seeking an individual that has experience and is confident in utilising procurement systems to generate improvements for the team and wider council.

You could have a big impact on how we do things and you’ll be trusted to take ownership of your work.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

Leading cross-functional teams to develop and new contracts, delivering clear service improvements and real cash savings.

Advising senior managers on all procurement and contract management issues.

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and contract standing orders.

Promoting self-service procurement through training, coaching, written guidance, and use of e-procurement. Having an advanced understanding and experience in utilising e-tendering systems to maximise its functionality and use.

Leading and developing commercial contract management.

What we’re looking for…

We are looking for someone with significant experience of leading procurement projects and producing complex documentation, as well as a detailed knowledge of procurement systems.

Previous public sector experience is essential plus a broad knowledge of commercial issues and purchasing techniques.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills with experience of stakeholder engagement across a broad spectrum.
