This post offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of the MDT on Ward S3, a specialised Ward in the psychological treatment of eating disorders. CPFT is the lead provider for the East of England provider collaborative for eating disorders.
The post holder will provide, plan and develop a systematic, comprehensive Clinical Psychology Service to adults with eating disorders on S3 (Adult Eating Disorder Inpatient Unit), both individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
They will provide a high-quality assessment and psychological intervention service that is well integrated with other professional services and targeted at adults with eating disorders who are presenting with a range of psychological needs.
In addition, the post holder will provide training, support and supervision to nursing and other staff on S3 ward.
The post does not have any budgetary responsibilities.
- To undertake a range of highly specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to adults with eating disorders.
- To coordinate and provide psychological interventions for service users, families and carers.
- To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
- To attend and/or coordinate multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences and reviews and provide professional advice on complex psychological issues as necessary.
- To monitor and evaluate progress during the course of both uni-and multi-disciplinary care, and to provide appropriate reports on this.
- To provide highly-specialised advice concerning care for adults with eating disorders, informed by psychological knowledge, and to implement this advice on a case by case basis.
- To coordinate research and projects by students, trainees and assistant psychologists as appropriate.
- To provide consultation to other professions and service staff, encouraging a psychological approach in their work.
- To take a lead on all psychologically-based interventions (including group work), working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.

These services include Children, Adult & Older Peoples mental & physical health, Forensic & Specialist mental health, Learning Disabilities, Primary Care & Liaison psychiatry, Substance misuse, Social care, Research & Development.
