Job description
We are seeking to appoint a Principal Facilities Manager to work within our Facilities Maintenance and Compliance Unit (FMC) who will take the lead in overseeing the work of the Mechanical Engineering team, including associated maintenance activities, across the University portfolio of 229 buildings.
The post holder will be directly responsible to the Head of Facilities – Maintenance and Compliance and as part of this role you will set, develop and monitor appropriate and acceptable standards of service in respect of mechanical engineering design and maintenance issues across the estate. You will manage a team comprising of Senior Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Inspectors and other technical and operational maintenance staff, whilst also responsible for the monitoring of cost effective LTM, PPM & reactive maintenance schemes, across all buildings and infrastructure.
As an ideal candidate you will have:-
- Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) or Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Significant relevant experience at a senior level within a client side large portfolio holder
- Experience with managing a complex estate
- PPM and CAFM system experience
- Managing and leading a multi disciplinary team of Professional and Operational Staff
- Dynamic and driven
