What you’ll be doing

This role will head an industry leading Electrical Engineering team in the Electrical and ICA team in Thames Water Above Ground Engineering to achieve Thames Water’s AMP7 ambitions and beyond.

Focusing on the Electrical Engineering design discipline the role will provide the expertise needed to: -

  • Get the right technical requirements in the project technical briefs
  • Ensure and deliver the Engineering Regulatory compliance on relevant assets in the Electrical area
  • Review or approve Electrical designs as appropriate
  • Lead, mentor and develop an Electrical design team
  • Input and continuously improve Technical Asset Standards
  • Lead excellence in Electrical Engineering for Thames Water
  • Provide the technical input into Project Definition Briefs
  • Provide the technical sign-off and assurance during technical delivery including handover
  • Ensure we are compliant with engineering based regulatory requirements in their area
  • Support the establishment of a cohesive, sustainable Engineering structure from Graduate to Industry experts that leads Thames Water’s engineering requirements into AMP8 and beyond

What you should bring to the role

  • Be a recognised leader and extensive experience in their engineering discipline including High Voltage and Low Voltage Systems and with meaningful experience in the water industry.
  • Degree level or equivalent with professional chartership likely in their Engineering Discipline
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills both internally and externally
  • Budget management experience
  • A passion of continuous professional development and active approach to driving diversity within Engineering in Thames
