Salary: £43,500 dependant on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Management of administration activities and contract bids, contract configuration management and execution
- Reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and finalising contracts and commercial agreements and providing support with complex contracts
- Being responsive to the needs and wants of the customer by researching and understanding their requirements
- Applying a high degree of customer focus, developing and maintaining customer relationships both internally and externally
- People management responsibilities, including mentoring and developing junior members of the team
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Educated to Degree level and/or proven relevant commercial experience
- Experience of negotiating contracts
- Demonstrable client/customer relationship management
- An understanding of the subject area of writing and drafting, negotiations and contract flow downs
Desirable:
- Knowledge of terms and conditions, types of contracts, commercial risks and opportunities
- Ability to forge strong working relationships across peer groups and confidence to brief managers on key areas
- Ability to develop knowledge of the full life cycle management of a contract

The Submarines Commercial Team:
As a member of the Commercial team you will work cross functionally and with the MOD. Your primary role will be to support the contract preparations negotiating, bidding, writing and drafting, configuring and managing of contracts. These consist of multi-function teams, such as Project management, Engineering, Technical specialists, and Supply Chain.
Career Development is fully supported within the team, with the opportunity to move up to management level along with skillset development through further education and recognised training to facilitate lateral moves within the wider BAE business.
