PRIMARY PRINCIPAL AT BERROW PRIMARY CHURCH ACADEMY, PART OF THE PRIORY LEARNING TRUST (from 1 May 2023)
Hours: Full Time
Grade/Salary: Trust Leadership Grade L10 – L16 (£55,360 - £64,225)

Berrow Church of England Primary School will join The Priory Learning Trust in May 2023 when it will become Berrow Primary Church Academy (BPCA). The school currently has 172 pupils across Reception to Year 6 with 18 in the pre-school.

We are looking to recruit a Principal to join our forward thinking Multi Academy Trust and lead Berrow Primary Church Academy (BPCA) in its journey to becoming a great school. We need an exceptional primary leader with the ability, passion and enthusiasm to develop, promote and support the vision and direction of BPCA enabling it to build success through high quality education for all. The successful candidate will lead and manage the school on a day-to-day basis; alongside the leadership team and be the first point of contact for all stakeholders and external agencies.

The Principal will be an ambassador for BPCA and TPLT and continue to raise their profile in the wider locality, promoting our happy community where students come first, all staff are valued and cherished and we service our communities. They will work closely with families, with the community and with other agencies to provide for the spiritual, moral, cultural, social and emotional needs of all children. The post holder will report to the Central team and Chair of Academy Council, supporting them to ensure that the organisation reflects and promotes the ethos and values set by the Board of Trustees and the Academy Council.

We are looking for a leader with:

  • a deep commitment to the education, safeguarding and well-being of children and young people;
  • experience working as a Headteacher or as part of a leadership team to develop staff;
  • exceptional knowledge of and passion for primary education and how children learn;
  • inspirational and effective curriculum design awareness leading to quality outcomes for all children;
  • proven ability to generate and deliver collective vision and shared purpose, including building teams, managing change and delivering results;
  • excellent communication skills.

This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
