The Exciting Role
As we look to build on the College Group’s academic success and excellence, an exciting new opportunity has become available for a Vice Principal – Commercial and Marketing Strategy. The successful postholder will lead the College Group’s marketing and sales activity with a view to effectively supporting our ambitious recruitment and growth targets.
This is an exciting time to join Nelson and Colne College Group as we are just in the process of launching our new vision to 2030, supported by a new strategic plan. A significant part of our plan is focused on investment and growth to support Lancashire’s 2030 visions and this new Vice Principal will play a critical role in enabling us to support Lancashire and realise our own ambitions.
Key to success in this role will be experience of working at a senior level, with a focus on the development of strategy relating to marketing/sales. Combining expert operational experience in a relevant functional area, with strong leadership and communication skills, including experience of working collaboratively with managers and key stakeholders across the wider organisation.
The successful candidate will be required to work across the three College sites.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Developing a coherent organisational strategy for Nelson and Colne College Group’s commercial and marketing activities, ensuring collaboration between key teams and developing new approaches.
- Lead the development of relationships with media and key stakeholders at a local, regional and national level, influencing policy and boosting our brand profile.
- Work in partnership with key College managers to develop integrated sales and marketing strategies for each of the College’s provision/curriculum areas, to support growth in student numbers.
- Ensure the Senior Leadership Team and Board have clear visibility of the impact of the strategy and associated activity.
What We Are Looking For:
- Hold a degree in a relevant subject or appropriate professional qualification.
- Expert operational experience/knowledge in one of the functional areas attached to this role:
- Marketing services
- Communications and PR
- Sales / pipeline management
- Experience of leading a large team and strong leadership skills, including mentoring, coaching and influencing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience of development relationships with managers and key stakeholders
- Commercial awareness at a senior level
