Job description
Milk Education are seeking to appoint a Behaviour Buddy to support children who find mainstream education difficult to access. This can be due to having multiple learning difficulties, disabilities or behavioural difficulties. These children may also have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP). The successful candidate must have experience of working with children who have additional needs. Personal care will be required on a 2-1 or 3-1 basis. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake all activities as required during their time at the school and be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative. The role is full-time with working hours from 8:30-3:30pm.
For the role of Behaviour Buddy, you do not need any school-specific qualifications, you could have any of the following backgrounds:
Sports Coaching
Care Worker
Army Cadets
Psychology graduate
Tutoring children with SEN
Youth Worker
Any previous experience with special educational needs
What you need to apply for the role of Behaviour Buddy:
Previous experience working with children, or young adults, with ASD and complex needs (Voluntary experience welcome)
Confidence dealing with pupils with different abilities and SEND requirements
Good interpersonal and communicational skills
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to complete this)
Enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring children
