About the role
It's an exciting time to join our dedicated Pricing team for Moja, the digital – only insurance brand. Our Pricing team work continuously to improve the predictiveness of our models and positioning of our prices in the market.
We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic colleague to join us as Pricing Manager, leading projects that underpin the development of our Moja motor telematics based products and the deviance from the traditional Moja product pricing algorithm.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at our London Gracechurch Street office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you'll be doing:
- Oversee the creation, maintenance and deployment of rating models. Analysing, ensuring rigor and high quality throughout
- Consider the impact on customers of pricing actions and act to avoid any unfair treatment
- Ensure that work can be efficiently merged/refactored into the python rating API codebase, ensuring that code quality is aligned with the standards expected
- Develop your own skills and capabilities, whilst being unafraid to test and fail, learn and move on quickly
- Build strong relationships with managers, peers and stakeholders
- Manage a small team of direct reports, developing their knowledge and skills
- Build relationships with other divisions across Retail & wider AXA Group to support collaboration

About you
What we’re looking for:
- Higher education (equivalent grades of 2:1 or higher) in a mathematics or computer science related discipline or evidence of equivalent proficiency
- Strong coding ability in Python
- Previous Telematics experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Understanding of the whole insurance pricing process and a range of statistical techniques for modelling
- Strong work ethic with an innovative mindset
- A continuous appetite to learn and develop skills
- Ability to deliver to strict deadlines whilst maintaining reliability and accuracy
- Previous experience in insurance pricing is desirable but not essential
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
