Location: We're flexible! You can be based in our Whiteley or London office. If you are based in London, we would like you to travel to our Whiteley office twice a month.
Salary: Up to £49,000 depending on experience

We are looking for someone with the skillset required to drive forwards our data science capabilities within Personal Lines pricing. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background with knowledge in machine learning techniques.
This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.
What will you be doing?
Reporting into the head of personal lines pricing, you will be responsible for the following:
- Supporting the development and deployment of data science techniques within personal lines pricing
- Continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible, looking to stay on top of current developments in machine learning and their relevance to personal lines pricing
- Understand the challenges faced pricing personal lines products and work with the wider business on innovate solutions using data science
- Communicate complex analysis in a simple way that the wider business can appreciate
- Work with the wider analytical community in pricing to embed the use of machine learning techniques
What are we looking for?
- Experience deploying data science techniques in personal lines pricing
- Comfortable working with various data types including big data, text data and documents (e.g. XML, JSON).
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Azure and databricks to deliver machine learning solutions
- Experience using codebases such as R and python to build machine learning models
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex data issues and to gain the support from internal and external and executive stakeholders
- Strong analytical, structured and interdisciplinary way of thinking and working, including the ability to think creatively with data and being comfortable with complex and ambiguous problem-solving
- Ability to think proactively and ‘join the dots’ across a complex landscape to see the bigger picture.
- An understanding of the importance of team culture, and a demonstrable ability to act as a role model to maintain a culture of curiosity, support and honesty.
