Somerset Bridge Group are recruiting for a Risk Pricing Manager to join our Risk Actuarial Pricing team. The ideal candidate will create and maintain the most accurate view of Claims Risk (expected cost of claims) by harnessing new and evolving forms of sophisticated pricing techniques that allow us and our partner(s) to protect against selection and achieve financial targets/loss ratios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creation, maintenance and advancement of claims risk models
• Creation and maintenance of monitoring tools
• Ensuring expenses are accurately captured in the risk models
• Applying inflation appropriately to the risk models in conjunction with other areas of the business
• Evaluating new data sources for predictiveness
• Managing a team of Analysts to deliver against business and function objectives
• Support the business in the negotiation of reinsurance contracts
• Providing product rates for new brokers whether internal or external, taking appropriate assumptions into account

Required Skills/Experience:

• Experience of motor insurance pricing
• Experience with the following or similar platforms - SAS / SQL / Radar / Emblem / Python / R
• Strong analytical knowledge and technical experience of modelling
• Ability to communicate technical output to variety of stakeholders
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Market knowledge and understanding
• Project management
• Understanding of insurance regulation
• Prior management experience
• Understanding of our customers’ needs
