Wise May are looking for a digitally-savvy communications professional to work on the front line media team and to contribute to the wider comms function, generating proactive media coverage, managing reactive enquiries and representing the work of the organisation to its members and stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced, highly respected and award-winning media team which deals with the full breadth of national, regional and trade media, across print, online and broadcast, handling a wide range of issues that really matter both to consumers and the industry.
Duties include:
- Front line press enquiries
- Handling journalists on a regular basis
- Social media (must be advanced on all social media platforms)
- Writing press releases
- Excellent stakeholder management skills are essential
Minimum Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience of working in PR, journalism or media relations, including managing relationships with the Press and journalists
- Demonstrable experience of using digital and social media in a professional context,
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to develop engaging, clear and concise messages tailored to a range of audiences.
- The ability to grasp a complex subject area in a way which earns trust and confidence, both internally and externally.
- Good team working and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working proactively with colleagues and stakeholders to get results.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage a range of work and projects effectively to deadlines and under pressure, whilst showing flexibility and initiative.
- Willingness to be proactive, flexible and adapt to changing work demands.
