Job description
Press and Public Relations Officer who is a creative storyteller with a strong passion for telling stories through media and PR is required for an international development charity based in London.
SALARY: £37,488 - £39,071 per annum (including London Weighting) + Benefits
LOCATION: Hybrid working with a minimum of 40% of your time in the London Head Office
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Press and Public Relations Officer who is a creative storyteller with a strong passion for telling stories through media and PR.
Working as a Press and Public Relations Officer you will be a creative go-getter with lots of ideas – you will try different angles to secure media coverage, both at the local and national level. No idea is too big or too small - you’ll be given room to flourish and come up with ways to raise the company profile.
As a Press and Public Relations Officer you should be able to write well and be able to build relationships with a wide range of people so you can share their stories. While there is a key emphasis on fun community stories and profiling fundraisers, the role will also support advocacy, campaigning and policy media work.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Your role as the Press and Public Relations Officer with require the following skills and attributes:
Experience of securing media and PR coverage
Experience working with digital teams, to ensure a “digital first” approach to media
Experience turning complicated issues into newsworthy stories
Experience coming up with your own ideas to generate media coverage
Experiencing creating captivating and inspiring content
Ideally experience of getting fundraising or community stories into the national or regional media (not essential)
A passion for international development and the values
