About the role
Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy have an opportunity to welcome an Early Years Teaching Assistant in to their team. This is to work in our preschool unit for two days per week, the hours of work will be 11.30am – 3.00pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.
You will be supporting early years children with their learning needs during their time in our preschool. You may work with children in small groups or on a one to one basis, depending on their individual needs, this will be supported and guided by the Class Teacher. Alongside this you will be supporting the children with their personal, social and emotional development, you will encourage sharing, turn taking and listening skills.
You will be a calm, caring and patient person who is dedicated to helping young children learn, grow and flourish.
The job requirements
You will have fantastic communication skills which will allow you to work closely and effectively with the children, parents and carers and the Early Years team.
You be able to multi-task, help plan and deliver stimulating and interesting activities and be confident in playing with children and reading stories aloud.
Although experience of working with early years children would be an advantage it is not essential however you will have a good understanding of child development, Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding.
