Job description
We are looking for an experienced chef to join our busy savoury and catering production team. You will also have a role in our viennoiserie team, laminating puff and croissant doughs and shaping croissants, danish and pains au chocolat. You will need to work at a fast pace to match those around you. Some of your work will be solo work, so you will need to be able to keep that pace up under all circumstances. We value people with a creative flare and a hunger to learn more and develop their skills, who are also happy to take a full part in volume production of everyday quality products.Your start time will generally be 7am, finishing at 3pm, but this may fluctuate a little.Work/life balance is important to us. You'll be part of a friendly and caring team in a company where staff welfare and employee rights are both central to our thinking and values. Paid holidays are more than in most workplaces, at 6 weeks, and we offer generous maternity, paternity and bereavement leave, as well as better than statutory sick pay.We have a committed workforce here, and our staff turnover is very low. We're looking for someone to join our team for the long term, who will bring and share skills and ideas, and keep our pastry team growing.Job Types: Permanent, Full-timeSalary: From £11.70 per hourBenefits:Additional leaveBereavement leaveCasual dressCycle to work schemeDiscounted or free foodEmployee discountEnhanced maternity leaveSick payTransport linksSchedule:Day shiftAbility to commute/relocate:Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (required)Experience:kitchen: 1 year (required)Work Location: In person
