About the Pre-Sales Consultant Role
Reporting to the Head of Retail Delivery, Sam Bransden, you will be involved in a wide variety of projects aiming to explain and position the functionality and benefits of our products to our customers and partners.
The Pre-Sales Consultant will be responsible for leading in-depth retailer conversations along with our sales team, developing deep understanding of retailer needs to provide the right solution including being responsible for external facing collateral. You will work closely with the product team ensuring a constant feedback loop between how our products work vs retailer requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing as a Pre-Sales Consultant
- Developing a deep understanding of our customer’s needs, their industry, business goals and the way they function internally.
- Participating in all stages of the sales lifecycle which will include pitches, demonstrations and technical workshops to retailers
- Maintaining a constant feedback loop and collaboration around this topic with Product Owners
- Combining your deep functional and technical understanding of our products, as well as an understanding of the benefits they bring. By combining this with knowledge of our customers, you must be able to
- Positioning our existing products in the right light for each customer, highlighting how they meet their specific needs
- Carefully choose which aspects or benefits of our product to highlight/downplay to each potential customers, ensuring they will resonate, and the customer is not overwhelmed with complexity
- Proposing (in consultation with the Product team) creative uses, adaptations, and customisations of our products to better meet individual customer needs (with a view towards reusability for future customers as well, as much as possible)
- Proposing (in consultation with the Product team) a sequenced approach to rollout/launching with a customer, in order to reduce time to go-live as much as possible
- Working closely with senior stakeholders defining the business value proposition, target audience and competitive landscape
- Ensuring communications explain clearly what the business does and drives the right level of understanding and performance through sales collateral
Requirements for the Pre-Sales Consultant Position
- Experience working for a SaaS company, experience in the retail industry would be highly desirable
- Ability to demonstrate deep functional and technical understanding of the Bink product
- Experience presenting (virtually and in-person) directly to key decision makers
- Experience working closely with sales teams and participating in all aspects of the sales cycle
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and key decision makers
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, senior leadership and our retail acceleration team
- Attention to detail for external collateral, particularly decks and packs for retailers
- Experience of attending networking events, expos and trade shows
