Pre-Admission Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and forward thinking Pre-Admission Lead to join our team at Rivers Hospital. Reporting to the Ambulatory Clinical Manager, the successful candidate will have current NMC registration, at least 4 years post registration experience including either acute/surgical, outpatient environment or pre assessment. The post holder will be expected to provide leadership day to day in the high performing Pre-Admission Department and to work collaboratively with the Ambulatory Clinical Manager, acting as a role model to junior staff and contributing to their management and development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Pre-Admission Department and support in the day to day organisation of clinic schedules.
  • Undertake a range of clinical activities including supervision and pre-admission clinics.
  • To participate in Clinical Governance agenda, ensuring audits are undertaken and the investigation of incidents/complaints.
  • Support in the development of policies and procedures to ensure care and services are safe.
  • Be responsible for the supervision of a group of staff, allocating work and encouraging staff development and undertake appraisals/job performance review.
  • Supporting the Ambulatory Clinical Manager with staff absence management
    and rostering staff to ensure efficient use of staff hours within the Pre-Admission department.
  • Support the Ambulatory Clinical Manager to achieve KPIs and quality indicators.
  • Collaboration with other departments involved in the pre-admission process.
  • Demonstrate outstanding clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actions.
  • Provide professional supervision.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Previous leadership experience and passion to deliver excellent clinical and customer care, with clear commitment to efficient team working
  • High standards of clinical competence
  • Aware of NICE guidelines on clinical assessment and routine tests for elective surgery
  • Experience and confidence in effectively meeting compliance to the Governance Framework
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legal and professional care/practice standards and evidence of supporting ongoing professional development
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
  • A passion for delivering an excellent patient-focus service
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Desirable
  • Previous clinical supervisory experience
  • Previous mentorship experience
  • Audit and report writing skills
