An exciting opportunity has emerged in our Dementia Assessment team to cover for a year long secondment. This post could be offered as a band 8a or band 7, adjustments could be made dependent on the experience of the successful applicant. We would welcome applications from HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologists. The post sits in a friendly and experienced multi-disciplinary Dementia Assessment Service covering Worthing, Shoreham and Littlehampton. There will also be opportunity to work as part of a community mental health team (DOPMHs team)supporting older peoplewith a wide range of complex mental health problems, their families and carers. You would be working alongside other Practitioner Psychologists, a Graduate Mental Health Practitioner, a CBT trainee and trainee Clinical Psychologists. The post holder will be expected to travel across the geographical area covered by the team.
The post-holder will ideally be familiar with working in an NHS setting. We would welcome applicants able to provide both direct and indirect psychological work, preferably with experience of team consultant/formulation. The focus of the DAS role is supporting people to adjust to their dementia diagnosis.
The successful candidate will join a friendly, highly-skilled and enthusiastic community of psychologists in West Sussex DOPMH services across our community and acute teams. You will receive regular clinical supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist and SOAMHS specialist as well as a commitment to your own continuing professional development. The post holder will provide psychological interventions as part of the Dementia Assessment service and the Dementia and Older People's mental health team in Worthing.
