About the Role
Aegis Medical Centre is looking to welcome an experienced, qualified General Practice Nurse into our practice to assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate treatment programmes for our patients. The role is offered for 12 hours per week covering three afternoons at our friendly surgery based in Basildon
We would require the applicant to be able to undertake the following clinics:
- Travel advice and immunisations
- Cervical cytology
- Adult and Childhood immunisations
- All Long-Term Disease management
- Blood pressure checks
- ECG’s
- Contraceptive checks
- Wound care
- And any other duties within the practice nurse role
Other duties as varied with the practice needs.
About the Candidate
If you are an experienced Practice Nurse looking for an exciting new change in career then we would love to hear from you.
You will have the following skills and qualifications:
- A relevant nursing degree
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN;
- Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course (General Practice Nurse Foundation Programme) or equivalent experience or qualifications;
- Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care.
- Compassionate, empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work as well as valuing the dignity of our patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
- Knowledge and application of supporting long-term conditions.
- Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and NHS.
