This is what leadership looks like

As a Practice Supervisor and Frontline Manager in our Lincoln or South Holland Family Assessment and Support Team (FAST), you’ll manage, guide and supervise a small team of social workers, providing primary assessment, support and advice.

About the teams

Lincoln FAST - We are based in the city, famous for it's history and culture, with access to free on site parking. We work with lots of communities, some of which are facing deprivation. We are a supportive, friendly team who focus on staff development and career progression.

South Holland FAST - Our offices are based in the market town of Spalding with car parking on site. Delivering services to our diverse population, we are a friendly team who offer flexible working and opportunities for learning and development at all levels of social work.

You’ll work with both children and young people within Child in Need (CiN), Child Protection (CP), Children In Care (CIC) and Care Proceedings to ensure that they are safeguarded at all times. This is an exciting opportunity to have real input in to the efficient and effective delivery of social care in a nationally leading local authority.

This is what development looks like

We’re looking for:

  • A SWE registered social worker with extensive experience of children’s social work
  • Practice Educator Stage 1 and 2 (desirable)
  • Significant experience supporting, guiding and mentoring others
  • Knowledge of childcare legislation and experience of Section 47 investigations
  • Awareness of budget and resource allocation
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • A great manager who enjoys working with a diverse range of people

In return, we’re committed to supporting your continuous professional development and career progression – we even offer a 15% annual retention bonus to all our Practice Supervisors within FAST.

This is what innovation looks like

Here at Lincolnshire County Council, we believe that children, young people and families deserve outstanding social care. Our high aspirations mean we’re now at the forefront of innovation in our field, and while we’ve made great strides, we want to achieve more. Much more. That’s why we’re part of an exciting project with Eileen Munro, rolling out the Signs of Safety framework across all service areas. And it’s why we’re also involved in the Partners in Practice programme – an exciting partnership where we work with other top-performing local authorities to redefine what children’s services departments should look like. Bring your ideas and innovation to the table and you’ll transform the lives of children, not only here in Lincolnshire, but across the UK.

We understand that you may have questions, or simply want to speak to one of the team to find out more about working here. For an informal discussion about the Lincoln role please contact Jo Casey via [email protected].
