About the Role
The PR Officer role sits within our Brand Management team, reporting to the Senior PR Officer / Senior PR Manager. You will support the Senior PR Officer / Senior PR Manager with implementation of the UK PR strategy for ASOS and Topshop/Topman, and management of local and global PR agencies.
The PR strategy will be nuanced at local level based on market needs and insight, and will require constant effective and clear communication with the agency network to deliver the most effective output.
The role will also cover more varied areas of the press office including some levels of admin on a day-to-day basis. The PR Officer should also help provide guidance and structure to the roles of the PR Assistant. The role will provide a fantastic level of exposure within the organisation, across departments and within the agency network. We will require some level of experience to ensure the candidate feels comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll be Doing
- Managing and maintaining execution of the Consumer PR strategy for ASOS and Topshop/Topman in the UK, supporting global agency management.
- Ensuring local and global agencies communicate to media through the lens of the creative brand strategy.
- Communicating with agencies on a day-to-day basis ensuring they have required support and guidance needed.
- Generating ideas for seasonal and product focussed events centrally and in relevant global markets.
- Communicating with a broad mix of consumer media and influencers to support organic PR placement for ASOS and Topshop/Topman brands.
- Actively building on new and existing press, media and agency relationships.
- Overseeing and maintaining new PR sample distribution process via agency, some direct. Ensuring KPI’s are adhered to.
- Supporting Senior PR Officer / Senior PR Manager on event launches and events throughout the season.
- Ensuring direct relationships with select media partners and influencers are maintained.
- Monitoring media on a daily basis, suggesting coverage opportunities based on reporting supplied.
- Liaising with the buying team to gather product information and samples
- Liaising with the buying team to identify relevant upcoming product drops and product opportunities.
- Stimulating conversation with buying / design teams to provide local opportunities in extended markets.
- Ensuring product opportunities, drops manifest in the best representation of our brand through HQ and agency showrooms… this covers broader seasonal moments and bespoke for talent etc.
- Supporting and guiding more junior members of the team
Who We'd Like to Meet
- PR experience in a fast-paced fashion environment
- Excellent writing style, with a high standard of grammar.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and appropriately with colleagues, suppliers, and others at all levels
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to set up systems to organise and manage administrative work
- Confident and able to build good working relationships over the telephone, in person and by email
- Commercially aware, organised, process driven and methodical
- Keen interest in fashion, marketing, PR, the digital landscape, and e-retail
- An ideas person
- Flexible with a can-do attitude
