PR and Marketing Assistant (Intern/ Voluntary Position)
We are looking for someone who has a real knack for making things happen on social media.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Relations and Marketing Assistant (Intern/Voluntary position) for Deeper Blue Marketing and Design Ltd. who are working with the independent publisher Lucadani Press.
The role will be responsible for promoting Ed Christiano's books. Ed Christiano previously worked behind the scenes in Hollywood movies before starting his own marketing and design business and writing fiction novels that are very cinematic and visual.
The role requires absolute integrity, professionalism and honesty above all else. You will deliver a marketing strategy for the author and his brand and manage his social media accounts, engaging with online communities and increasing brand awareness. The role involves creating compelling content and assisting in book promotional activities to reach new readers, providing progress reports on an agreed timeframe. Writing press releases and building contact lists in top media and industry will also be required. As a priority, you will be assisting on book-to-film projects.
The PR and Marketing Assistant will work closely with the author and his team to devise and assist with publicity campaigns for book titles, pitching the media and outreaching to influencers and reviewers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to establish themselves in the creative industries, PR, marketing or talent management.
Please note: This is an internship/voluntary position, with the possibility of a future paid position for the right candidate. We are based in Blackpool, Lancashire, but this position can be fully remote from anywhere in the UK. We encourage you to discuss with us how this role can be flexible for you.
What you will bring:
You don't need experience in publishing or book marketing, but you must want a new challenge and be passionate about books and films and pursuing new marketing opportunities.
About you:
- Some experience with social media marketing, PR and copywriting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
- Knowledge of up-to-date social media platforms and digital trends. An understanding of how to implement relevant social media strategies and viral marketing techniques (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik-Tok, YouTube, etc.)
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and you will also be comfortable analysing data
Duties :
- Help devise and implement publicity campaigns to maximise exposure for the author and his books
- Assist in securing national and regional media and identify new media opportunities-
- Support in the writing and delivery of press releases, with media engagement and with the creation of media kits
- Attentive communication with partners and agencies
- Research contacts. Strengthen relationships with media and industry contacts
- Assist with keeping the website up to date with news, projects, and all other content as relevant. Some administrative work
- Emails. Outreach to vloggers and bloggers and present publicity strategy & campaigns at key author meetings
- Represent (in person or online as this role can be fully remote) the author at various meetings and industry events. Help create presentations for author meetings
- Implement creative social media content, helping to drive awareness of the author brand. Post and respond on all relevant social media channels
- Analyse campaign data and regular reports. Record press coverage
