Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- A bachelor’s degree in mass communication, marketing, digital media or related field.
- Experience creating and executing marketing strategies, content creation, and digital engagement in various mediums including websites, emails, social, test, direct mail, print, advertisements and special events.
- Excellent writing, visual & communication skills.
- Proficiency with course management systems, such as Canvas.
- Portfolio of work with an explanation of your role in each project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Communication, Strategic Media, PR/Advertising, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading photography/social/video projects while collaborating with others in a creative environment.
- 1 year of professional experience as a videographer, photographer and/or social media content creator.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple media projects simultaneously.
- Experience with design and development of online course content.
Job Description
Schedules, coordinates and develops digital media assets/services and special events for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. With more than 2000 majors, our undergraduate program is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC).
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be a skilled storyteller with an entrepreneurial spirit. A self-starter, the Digital Media Specialist is responsible for marketing, communication and outreach for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In addition, the Digital Media Specialist will assist faculty with the design and development of curricula related to our online academic programs and productions. This role supervises students supporting online social media engagement, special events and video production projects.
