City of London based Chartered Accountants is looking for a Part Qualified ACCA/ ACA Accountant to work within their Outsourced Finance and Accounting team To produce informative, accurate, well presented management accounts, deliver VAT returns and other client deliverables for a diverse portfolio of clients in a timely and methodical manner.
- To produce monthly/quarterly management accounts onsite or in-house as required for review. Work will be predominantly conducted on Xero, however a familiarity with Sage, Quickbooks or other packages is useful.
- Draft commentary to accompany management accounts, demonstrating an understanding of the clients business and an aptitude for identifying key trends, relationships and concerns.
- Preparation of consolidated management accounts, where necessary.
- Review the work of junior staff to ensure full and accurate book-keeping (weekly, monthly or quarterly) including invoicing, sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and monitor cashflow
- Use of accounting systems including multi-currency, detailed reports in Excel, tracking categories and cost-centres
- Preparation and checking of VAT returns, Intrastat returns and EC Sales lists.
- Assist in the setting up procedures of new companies including VAT registration and accounting systems.
- Respond to any reporting queries on the management accounts and financial data dealing with client queries via email, telephone or in person
- Liaison with OFA payroll team
- To manage the day to day general duties that are required including ensuring that all financial data and information received is processed and filed in an orderly manner
- Ensure that work is performed in a cost effective manner to ensure that all assignments are completed within the budgeted time allowed. Bring to the attention of the OFA Partner where budgets no longer appear to be appropriate.
- Develop good working relationships with the client staff with whom you have most contact.
- To understand the business of each client worked on.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Keep OFA Partner informed of progress on client assignments and highlight potential cross-selling opportunities or issues.
- Collaborate with Partners, Associate Directors and other staff around the firm to ensure that a seamless service is delivered.
- To assist in the supervision, training and development of juniors and allocating the work.
