WHAT TO EXPECT
We have a central role to Powertrains Digital Transformation that provides the opportunity to transform the customer experience throughout the complete vehicle lifecycle – Lead Powertrain Data Scientist.
This role will play a key part in shaping and delivering the propulsion system prognostic capabilities and data analytics strategic vision giving you the opportunity to work across Powertrain functions to ensure the needs of DOTA, SOTA, Quality, Prevent Reoccurrence, Prognostics, Diagnostics and
Reliability are considered and integrated into the engineering technical excellence processes and procedures.
This role will also give you the opportunity to work with a network around the business to leverage the use of Data Science techniques to deliver commodity level Prognostics, attribute and advance feature development to ensure the customer experience of purchasing and owning a JLR vehicle.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Create SQL scripts to retrieve the appropriate data from the data repositories.
- Ensure customer privacy is protected at every stage of data analysis.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to provide a diagnostics and prognostics framework for issue resolution and pre-emptive fault analysis.
- Promote Diagnostics, Prognostics and Data Analytics opportunities into the company.
- Oversee the delivery and optimisation of analytics solutions; ensure solution meets business needs.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Knowledge of data solutions visualization tools (BigQuery, Data Studio, Tableau for example).
- A background in data science technologies (SQL, Python, Cloud Platform Services, for example).
- Knowledge of data lifecycle from data cleaning to transformation, model building and presentation.
- An understanding of regulations such as GDPR for handling customer data.
