Job description

Join the team at HIT Training Ltd as a Quality Assurer and make a real impact in the world of vocational training! We're on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our Hospitality Vocational Trainers and provide support for Level 7 Management and Level 3 HR Apprenticeships.

Role: Quality Assurer
Location: Fully Remote
Salary: £27,000 - £34,000

About the Quality Assurer role:

As a Quality Assurer, you'll play a crucial role in monitoring and evaluating assessment activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and identifying potential risks. Your keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills will be put to great use as you conduct sampling interventions, evaluate evidence, and prepare comprehensive IQA (Internal Quality Assurance) reports. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our training programs through identifying themes and participating in Quality Development initiatives.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Conducting sampling interventions to monitor assessment activities throughout the learner journey, from the initial stages to the gateway, based on identified risk factors.
  • Evaluating the validity, authenticity, reliability, and sufficiency of assessment and progress evidence.
  • Preparing comprehensive IQA (Internal Quality Assurance) reports following each sampling intervention and sharing the findings.
  • Identifying and reporting sampling themes that indicate areas of risk or good practice for further investigation.
  • Monitoring compliance with ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency) regulations through sampling activities.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of catch-up plans for learners and providing support when necessary.
  • Providing clear and timely communication to Vocational Trainers to address actions and ensure timely closure.
  • Identifying non-compliance areas and promptly escalate them to the Quality Manager or Head of Centre.
  • Utilising end point assessment platforms to refer apprentices for their EPA (End Point Assessment) in a compliant and accurate manner.
  • Processing APA (Accredited Prior Achievement) and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) components and qualifications.
  • Identify themes and contribute to Quality Development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in delivery consistency.

About you:

To thrive in the Quality Assurer role, you should have previous experience in a Quality role within a vocational training organisation. Holding a Level 4 TAQA qualification or equivalent, as well as a Level 5 or higher management qualification. We’re also looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience in Hospitality Management, managing areas such as F&B, Housekeeping, Front Office, or Conference & Events.
  • Exposure to HR scenarios in your hospitality background would be advantageous too.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
