Changan UK R&D Centre (CAUK) was founded by Changan in 2010 to design and develop its next generation powertrains. Based in Birmingham Business Park, we are the pioneers in Changan Global R&D for designing and developing advanced systems including electric drive systems, hybrid powertrain systems, hydrogen fuel cell systems and range extender systems.
A vital part to our future success is our ability to deliver smart software to control our next generation smart powertrains. CAUK has a Powertrain Electrification, Control System & Software Department that is dedicating its effort for this purpose. We are looking for an experienced Powertrain Control System & Software expert to lead the team in this effort.
Your New Job
As the team leader, a major and integral part of your role will be ensuring the successful delivery of our powertrain control software, covering both platform and applications for different Powertrain Architectures (DHT, REEV, BEV). You will also support designing new control system strategies with smart technologies in topics like 4WD Torque Split Strategy, Energy Management, Predictive Features etc and leading the team to deliver software based on those. This role will require you to work with the wider cross-functional teams to develop a good understanding of various powertrain technologies and, to communicate clearly with non-software domain engineers.
You will be part of the management team of our Powertrain Electrification & Software Department. You will bring in team development skills to mentor and grow the software team and help them take on current demands and future challenges. You will also assist the head of the department to define and refine the department growth strategies.
