SLB Cambridge Research (SCR) is part of SLB’s global network of research and engineering centres. SCR is a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art research and computing facilities. We work on applied research projects in the physical sciences to meet the current and future challenges of the industry.
SLB Cambridge Research is a distinctive marquee-like structure dominating the High Cross site on the western outskirts of Cambridge, England. This spectacular building was completed in 1985 and the smaller second phase was opened in 1992. It has recently been classified as a Grade II listed building. Altogether, there are more than 930 m2; of laboratory space and offices for more than 100 scientists, technicians and domain experts.
Job Summary:
You will join the Power-to-X team under Well Construction Sensors & Chemistry programme at Schlumberger Cambridge Research. Your work will contribute to the development of novel electrolyser for hydrogen production, crucial to the future energy system and meeting the net-zero target. The work spans a range of fields including electrocatalysis and electrochemistry. Majority of the work will be lab-based, carrying out experiments as well as performing the analysis and interpretation of the experimental data.
The interns will be working on on-going research projects along with a team of scientists. Candidates should be detail oriented, enjoy taking on new challenges and have good writing skills.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Planning and carrying out experimental work, ensuring that laboratories activities are kept within Health & Safety standards and guidelines
- Analysing and interpreting experimental dataset
- Participating in regular meeting to discuss project progress
- Writing technical reports and presenting to peers
- Assist with the laboratory housekeeping

- Good communication skills

- Basic data analysis
Qualification:
- Studying towards a Bachelors or Masters in Physics, Chemistry or Material Science.
