Job description
A full-time research assistant is required for a 12-month fixed-term position for a project that aim to generate HAV Virus-Like Particles in mammalian and plant systems and to assess their potential as a novel and affordable vaccine. The post is based in a productive laboratory, and will be demanding and challenging, requiring a willing, adaptable and well-organised appointee.
The post would suit an individual with a first degree in the biological sciences and a MSc/MRes in an area related to the research, as would knowledge and experience of laboratory techniques including molecular techniques (e.g. PCR, cloning) and culture of mammalian cell lines. The appointee will also provide core support for these multidisciplinary activities.
