General Summary:

The Post Production Operations Director is a fixed-term contract to facilitate the establishing of our Post Production Operations Support department for our Sports and Live Events clients.

Responsible for managing a busy, in-house post facility based across 2 West London sites. The director is the principal contact for key clients and is to establish and lead a team of people delivering a comprehensive operational and bookings support service to the users who are working on the platforms producing compliance, highlights, creative and feature edits.

A key focus of this role is to provide account management to the business by supporting users, understanding the strategy for our sports and live events clients, determining the upcoming projects and working with internal clients to successfully plan and execute projects.

This role will oversee the day to day management and development of the facility and staff and provide a professional contact for the Creative, Programming, Production Management and Digital teams and includes close, effective collaboration with associated operations and technology teams in the content supply chain developing and adapting workflows and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, lead and develop a team of people
  • Set up and manage facility bookings and user onboarding
  • Oversee and govern the post production facility with responsibility for ensuring services are delivered to the highest standards
  • Develop in-house talent through the provision of comprehensive technical training
  • Establish regular communication and strong working relationships with key clients within the business with a focus on future strategy and planned throughput
  • Work collaboratively other GT&O departments within the supply chain i.e. Media Management, Ingest, Engineering and Transmission ensuring working relationships and communication are of the highest standards
  • Identifying key development opportunities for improved workflows, system development and enhanced reporting. Driving forward the system and software development needs for Post Production with the Engineering team, overseeing testing, implementation, and relevant training.
  • Escalation point and key contact for resolution of high priority issues
  • Actively manage POs, invoices and track additional costs
  • On behalf of Post Production lead projects and initiatives with focus on successful delivery of projects on time and in budget
  • Manage workflow and system changes
  • Establish and implement department KPIs and SLAs
  • Provide support to the line manager in operational and strategic decision making
  • Identify savings opportunities; promote sharing of best practice and process change opportunities to increase efficiency
  • Collate costs, resource and personnel requirements for Post Production Operations for input into the business planning process on request
  • Assist in Post Production Operations execution and implementation of new business plans, launches and initiatives.
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Post Production operations management within broadcast and the commercial sector
  • Solid technical understanding and working knowledge of post production platforms to include Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills demonstrating the ability to build, motivate, develop and inspire a team
  • Proven track record in managing large, successful teams, delivering to the highest standards
  • An experienced account management background demonstrating the ability to successfully form and manage relationships in an international environment
  • Pro-active trouble-shooting, problem solving and avoidance of issues
  • Adaptable and flexible in a challenging, demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to represent Post Production Operations at a high level in meetings
  • Take the lead for the department in projects and initiatives, ensuring a considered and effective approach is deployed, projects are delivered on time and to budget and risks and issues highlighted
  • Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, demonstrating strong analytical skills and with the capability to see the implications across the business and make informed decisions
  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong team player and solid interpersonal skills
  • Adept at budget and expense management
