The team
The Broadcast Post Production Assistant will be responsible for providing first line support to ITV Creative, assisting with devices, software and workflows and ensuring our teams can operate efficiently within the Post Production department. This will include administering all our editing systems including our media storage (AVID NEXIS and AVID Interplay), and supporting our campaign management and broadcast delivery portal, Phoenix. The role will also include some basic editing, versioning and creation of deliverables if required.
The role
- Perform media management and support tasks for both the Post Production and Design teams
- Responsive and agile first line support for all tickets coming through the Post Production support team
- Maintain and promote workflows and understand inter-editing project management to a high level
- Provide edit support to ongoing edits when required
- QC’ing output to ensure broadcast standards are met
- Conforming offline picture lock for online when required
- Identify, report and promote efficient ways of working
- Have a forward thinking approach to the role, keeping abreast of current trends in post production and championing their use in the department
- Assist in the administration of DAMs within ITV Creative
- this role will require Mon-Fri office based work with a week at home every three weeks, according to a rota
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Experience in working in a broadcast environment
- Understand common file formats used in a broadcast environment (for example MXF wrappers and QT wrappers)
- Ability to operate Avid Media Composer and troubleshoot issues
- Essential: Understanding basic editing workflows within a Post Production environment
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Experience with Blackmagic Davinci Resolve and most of the Adobe suite to an acceptable standard
- Have a desire to learn new software, workflows and trends and be self driven with personal development
- Basic knowledge of graphic workflows and file formats
- Ability to communicate often complicated workflows clearly and simply and manage stakeholder expectations
- A good understanding of the broadcast delivery chain and its requirements
