At Post Office Park Avenue, there is an opportunity for the addition of a Post Office assistant. This position is a full time, permanent role which requires evening and weekend hours. Detailed shift patterns and availability will be discussed at the interview stage.
We require a reliable, honest and dedicated individual with a willingness to learn new skills, in the fast paced and changing environment of a post office.
The successful candidate will report and work alongside the Post Office Manager and Postmaster. They will be required to handle and balance cash independently and confidently on a daily basis, therefore good organisation and time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to work calmly and precisely under pressure is crucial for this position.
As continued training and compliance tests are essential throughout employment, an eagerness to learn and demonstrate knowledge and compliance of all post office regulations and guidelines will be required.
Essential Criteria: GCSE Mathematics Grade C and above (or equivalent)
Previous post office counter experience is highly desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
