We are seeking for a Policy and Engagement Officer, Global Talent in the International Partnerships team. As an endorsing body appointed by the Home Office to assess applications under the , the Royal Academy of Engineering oversees endorsement applications for promising and talented research and innovation professionals wishing to work in the UK. The role As a Policy and Engagement Officer, you will support the Academy's Global Talent visa activities by linking delivery of the Global Talent visa route with the Academy's broader work around mobility and engineering talent. Working closely alongside other endorsing bodies, assessors, prospective applicants and the UK Home Office. Who are we looking for? You will be able to draw upon your excellent communication and highly developed organisational skills to plan and deliver engagement activities including events, whilst providing support to a growing network of assessors and ambassadors. Stakeholder management, and community building are a big part of this role; therefore, we are looking for a confident individual who has effective communication and interpersonal skills, and who has experience of working in cross-sector partnerships. Experience in content creation and community engagement will be appreciated. In this role you will be required to have the ability to see opportunities and make improvements to how we deliver the route. You will have a keen interest in improving processes and will assist in managing and processing applications, responding to internal and external queries, and handling sensitive and confidential data. You will need first class written skills, a talent for creating compelling and engaging content, and an ability to interpret government policy and produce user-friendly guidance to route applicants. You will bring your passion for supporting greater access for promising and talented engineers and a desire to be part of the policy process. Experience of advocacy and policy work will be a significant advantage; therefore, this role is suitable for someone with an interest in making a difference in the migration space or UK Immigration landscape and willingness to use your skills to successfully navigate complex issues.
