Job Duties

The Policy Analyst provides executive level staff assistance to the Board of Local and Regional jails and its Executive Director concerning administrative, policy, regulatory, and legislative issues. This position coordinates the Board's complaint and adjudicative processes to ensure timely and appropriate handling and compliance with Board standards. Under the Executive Director's supervision, this position also serves as the Board's regulatory coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience drafting, researching, and analyzing complex legal and regulatory documents. Ability to research, analyze, and properly apply complex legal, regulatory, and administrative codes and statutes. Ability to prepare complex written reports and documents in a professional and timely manner. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; proficiency in the use of computers and skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs to include word, excel and powerpoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

College degree with a major concentration in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent applicable experience or training. Demonstrated ability drafting, organizing, and tracking regulatory and legislative documents through their life cycle.
