Job summary
Create a positive user experiences of Cabinet Office model contracts by improving usability. Work with senior teams across the Government Commercial Function and with industry to embed best practice policy approaches in our contracts, covering topics as diverse as social value, modern slavery, climate change, and risk allocation.
Ensure consistent commercial positions across all model contracts. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in government and beyond and advise central policy makers on development of ‘workable’ commercial initiatives and offer constructive challenges.
Promote and share model contracts across departments. Present to external stakeholders and conferences advocating and showcasing the model contracts approaches to policy delivery.
Lead a Working Group of commercial, legal and policy colleagues and grow the wider policy community within the commercial function, for example manage networks to ensure stakeholders are aware of commercial policy and the role it plays in the commercial function. Lead the dialogue on standard contracts across the commercial function and react positively to any new policy and legal requirements.
Support the Deputy Director of the policy team on management and leadership activities, including business planning, strategic change and wellbeing matters.

A proven track record as a senior commercial or policy professional with extensive experience of relationship management.
A proven ability to resolve complex issues and deliver customer focused results.
A strong communicator, with the ability to communicate at all levels ranging from junior officials to ministers and chief executives.
Has strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage a large number of priorities at the same time - ensuring conflicting pressures from various stakeholders are expertly managed.
