This vacancy is specifically for exiting qualified Police Officers & Detective Constables to transfer from their current force to Avon and Somerset Police

We are currently looking for enthused, tenacious and passionate Detective Constables or Police Constables committed to become Detective Constables to expand our Criminal Investigations Teams focusing mainly on the following areas:
+ Core investigative/CID teams – investigating crimes ranging from assaults through to attempted murder, tackling threats to life from organised crime groups and finding missing people at the highest risk of harm.
+ Operation Ruby – investigating and prosecuting the most predatory of offenders that pose a risk to children, ensuring the voice of the child is heard.
+Operation Bluestone – working with partners to identify, target and bring to justice perpetrators of Rape and Serious Sexual Offences, while providing an outstanding level of care and support to victims.
Our Chief Constable Sarah Crew is the national lead for sexual violence against Women and girls, and our passionate RASSO investigators are leading the way, with pioneering offender-based investigations.
You will need to be driven and determined to make a difference and we are looking for people who are curious and are not afraid to ask those key questions and be patient to gather all the evidence, what you bring to this role will change people’s lives.

There are also numerous opportunities to get involved celebrating the diversity across Avon and Somerset with events such as the famous St Paul’s Carnival and numerous pride events throughout the region with the Bristol event being ranked in the top 30 of Global world pride events.
We have a host of award-winning schools, colleges and universities including UWE and the University of Bath, these offer excellent opportunities for those students looking to take that next step.
Location
Our Investigative team have bases in both the North and South of the force area. The North hubs being in Bristol at Kenneth Steele House and Concorde House and the South being at Bridgwater and Yeovil.
Please ensure that when you are selecting your location preferences that you only select from the above 4 bases. Although we will always take your preferences into consideration the post you are offered will depend on organisational demands and needs at the time of offer.
Please note that at present our demand sits largely in the South of the force area (Bridgwater or Yeovil). This is under continuous review and is subject to change.
Please note that our specialist teams for Child Protection and Adult Sexual are based predominately in Bridgwater and Kenneth Steele House.
