Junior Interior Designer

Our talented and dedicated Team has completed over 1,000 projects Across North America and is industry renowned for our high level of detailed design work including Branded and Boutique Hotels, Casinos, Restaurants, and Spas.
Our Team is expanding, and we are currently looking for an Junior Designer to join our Team!
As a Junior Designer, you will be working hands on in our office with located in the heart of Toronto at Designer’s Walk, adjacent to the vibrant Annex and Yorkville neighbourhoods where there is no short of inspiration. Specializing in AutoCAD, you will work with our Senior team members to develop documentation for various Hotel Brands, boutique restaurants, and beyond. At Moncur Design Associates Inc, we are a tight knit team of hard-working individuals that that are dedicated to producing the highest quality of documentation.
Qualifications:
- Interior Design Degree (or related field of study) from a recognized institution
- Minimum 2 years working in a recognized Interior Design firm (Residential or Hospitality)
- Passion for Hospitality Interior Design and detailed documentation
- Strong understanding of AutoCAD
- Understanding of XREF’s, blocks, layers, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, construction plans, elevations, architectural and millwork details.
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign)
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to produce 2D renderings in Photoshop
- Creative, innovative, driven
- Strong communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities:
AutoCAD/Design
- Develop high quality drawings in AutoCAD from concept to final design
- Develop Furniture Plans, Elevations, Millwork Drawings, Tender Packages etc.
- Take direction and assist Intermediate and Senior Designers
- Understanding of Building Code regulation standards
- Develop presentation material using AutoCAD, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Develop FF&E and Base Building Specifications
Project Management
- Prioritize multiple projects at various stages of development
- Work in a Team setting as well as independently
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Meet tight schedules and deadlines
- Utilize various third-party file hosting software’s such as Procore, Lobo, Hightail, Dropbox, etc.
- Participate in conference calls, producing and issuing meeting minutes
- Execute site measures and verifications as required (travel required)
Must:
*Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or legally entitled to work in Canada, living the in Greater Toronto Area.
*Travel to the USA is required and the selected applicant must have appropriate working Visa and Passport documentation.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday: 37.5 hours a week (in office)
Compensation:
Compensation is determined based on previous experience.
COVID-19 Considerations:
Regular sanitization and hand washing required by all employees. All surfaces are wiped down regularly.
