This is a great opportunity for someone who already has experience in a PMO to take on a key support role in a far-reaching and high-profile programmes.
Operating in an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with the PMO team to support the programmes that support Ofgem’s social and economic energy schemes. It’s an opportunity to work with a range of different stakeholders in an environment where you are encouraged to be creative and where you’ll have plenty of scope to develop your professional knowledge and skills.
You’ll have a vital co-ordination role, working closely with program team to ensure that agreed project milestones are achieved, processes are adhered to, and accurate and timely reporting supports effective project governance and communication with stakeholders.
We expect that you will already have worked in a project support role and so will be accustomed with the need to work across a range of different tasks and workstreams, and co-ordinate and prioritise your work effectively. You’ll be someone who enjoys taking the initiative and who can arrive at the right conclusions on administrative decisions based on a good understanding of relevant policies or operational requirements. A good understanding of the key attributes of a successful PMO team and the ability to promote these practices as essential parts of effective project management will identify you as a strong candidate.

Job description
Within Ofgem this role as known as Planning and Controls Analyst and you will be working within the PMO team and alongside the Delivery and Product Management teams and Senior Managers in the Delivery Hub – Digital area, you will be responsible for supporting the monitoring and reporting on the Digital Delivery’s Agile project and product portfolio.
You will work within a small team of staff who are responsible for:
- Operating and continuously improving an effective PMO function
- Ensuring proper governance is implemented & adhered to the role requires knowledge of best practices in the operation of a Programme Management Office.
This role will require a collaborative approach to working with colleagues within and outside the Delivery Hub. The right candidate will have project and programme management experience and a pragmatic approach that balances the need for governance and rigour while not overburdening the stakeholders.
Person specification
- Some experience of PMO and Project Management methodologies, processes and techniques
- Experience planning, prioritising and coordinating workload within a fast paced environment
- Some experience within programme and project risk management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience of working with a diverse group of stakeholders.
