The PMO Specialist executes a range of workstreams in end to end project planning, supporting the implementation of project standards, tools, reporting and programme delivery across BT Group. As we strive to simplify engagement for all our Customer Facing Unit and Digital stakeholders, ensuring that our teams are working on the right things at the right time with the right funding and resource available is key. Hence, we are recruiting a PMO Specialist to manage the demand for resources across the Networks organization, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned with business objectives and supported by solid business cases. The PMO Specialist role is a critical position within our organization, hence with expertise in demand management, the successful candidate will play a vital role in driving business outcomes and ensuring that our teams are working on the highest priority initiatives.

This role requires a strategic and analytical mindset and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with CFU and Digital stakeholders effectively. The PMO Specialist role is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced PMO professional to significantly impact our organization's success, as the successful candidate will be working on some of the biggest portfolios in BT. This role can be based in any of our London, Bristol, Ipswich, or Birmingham offices with an opportunity for hybrid working (3 days in the office and 2 days wherever you like).


What you’ll be doing
  • Owning the PMO Relationship with key programmes & portfolios. This will provide one single point of contact for all demand driven by those units.
  • Owning the annual planning and subsequent change management process, ensuring that all impacts are understood across the business.
  • Owning the ways of working with our partners to ensure we have a process that works for us but also for other areas in BT.
  • Providing monthly reporting and insight across the portfolios and programmes, focusing mainly on critical changes and future impacts across the organisation.
  • Ensuring data completeness and challenging portfolios & programmes to drive insight.
  • Working closely with our commercial and internal portfolios to ensure that our spend is being monitored monthly and processes are in place to prevent us from working on an activity that is not funded.
  • A strong focus on improving the processes to be the best they can be for us and our customers.

  • Proven experience in project, programme, and portfolio management, focusing on financial management.

  • Data analytics skills- the ability to coordinate and establish the development and use of project data analytics to make decisions.
  • Be agile - ability to lead collaborative ways of working and continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience in change management and process improvement.
  • Team coach - ability to build high-performing cultures within teams, empowering, supporting, coaching, and carrying out development activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate to identify how work activities across teams are related and highlight inefficiencies.
