An opportunity has arisen for an experienced PMO Analyst who will be required to undertake Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) support activities. The role having access to a wealth of data, will create, manage and maintain a Master Integrated Schedule. This includes working closely with Project Managers to develop accurate schedules and resource profiles, mapping project dependencies and highlighting challenges to the relevant stakeholders. As a part of a small team within a very large enterprise, the role requires a broad set of skills and a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.

Another key aspect of this role is monitoring performance in the project management domain. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with a variety of stakeholders to produce, validate and enhance our performance reports tracking against service levels including project baselines.

The job holder must not be constrained by a rigid job specification and be willing to pick up additional duties as necessary. They must be enthusiastic and “hands on” in their approach and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must be comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels within the organization

Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage and maintain a Master Integrated Schedule, providing input into demand and capacity management
  • Monitor project performance producing and adapting reports as necessary
  • Support the project managers in delivering projects using the in-house project management tools following industry defined methodologies
  • Manage your own time, prioritisation of workload and effective communication of appropriate issues and escalations
  • Provide practical advice, guidance and quality assurance across all projects within the programme, ensuring that the project management methodology is adhered too
  • Support & facilitate resource meetings and relevant programme/project governance forums
  • Refine the in-house project management methodology as required to provide project managers with improved methodology and tools to support project delivery
  • Own & facilitate regular IT governance forums, including Project Review Board, Investment Review Board, Risk Management and Change Boards
  • Document and progress IT Risks, Issues and Action items
  • Experience of configuring, monitoring, and reporting Earned Value (EVM) advantageous
  • Propose, investigate and drive opportunities for process improvement within the IT organisation.

Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a PMO, working to industry recognised methodologies such as PMI and PRINCE2
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of developing and maintaining a Master Integrated Schedule
  • Experience in risk identification and assessment
  • Experience of Microsoft Project Server
  • Highly competent in using Microsoft Project Client & the Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrable experience of working with staff up to board level, comfortable with conducting presentations and running meetings
  • ITIL knowledge would be advantageous
  • Exposure to the Full project life Cycle - Waterfall & Agile Methodologies
  • Demonstrable attention to detail, thoroughness and commitment to quality/accountability of own output
