Do you love to collaborate and help businesses thrive? At Qualis as a Plumber you will undertake a range of plumbing activities, involving domestic and commercial systems, to include work in both empty and occupied properties.
This exciting opportunity will be based in Loughton, Essex. You will join us on a full-time basis in return for a salary between £28,000 to £32,000 per annum plus other benefits. Salary will reflect your skills and knowledge.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Carrying out installation and repair works safely on hot and cold-water systems. This includes but not limited to working with both vented and unvented systems, using direct and indirect methods, and diagnosing faults on drainage systems, both above and underground
- Repairing and replacing all aspects of plumbing, including all sanitary fittings, and undertaking “secondary trade” tasks as required
- Maintaining van stock of materials and utilising the delivery service and materials “pod”, to replenish stock levels, minimising travel and downtime
- Specifying and ordering specialist materials where required to complete your assigned task, minimising any wastage
- Ensuring materials orders, vehicle checks, standby log sheets, annual leave requests and other documentation are completed through our systems and in line with our policies. In addition, utilising a handheld device to accurately record required information on job orders
- Achieving relevant productivity and performance targets set on annual basis and reviewed quarterly
- Informing Supervisors of work orders that require cancelling, follow on works or change in status of works
- Being flexible with working patterns as required, to provide effective customer service and also taking part in the standby duty rota outside of normal office hours
- Keeping up to date with developments and innovations in the building maintenance industry and maintain your own continuous professional development
- Carrying out risk assessments, reporting bad practice and dangerous occurrences to your supervisor. Ensuring you are delivering works safely and in line with our internal safety procedures and standards

What you will bring to the team:
Knowledge and skills:
- Sound knowledge of Legislation, Building Regulations and British Standards
- Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Legislation and requirements
- Knowledge of Electrical principles
- Able to recognise trace heating and good knowledge of Legionella
- An existing understanding of safeguarding issues an advantage, as this role operates within occupied properties
- Being multi-skilled and therefore able to undertake work across more than one trade would be an advantage
- Able to prioritise workloads and minimise unproductive time with good timekeeping, organisation and planning skills
- Able to make sound judgements and decisions in line with the company’s guidelines and objectives
- Able to use basic IT systems and able to accurately record information digitally, and comfortable with using technology and working methods to improve the service
Qualifications and experience:
- Substantial experience in the building industry to acquire the skills and techniques of your specialised trade and a secondary trade
- City and Guilds qualification (up to NVQ level 3) or relevant experience in one trade and others
- Holder of relevant current construction skills certification scheme (CSCS) site operative card an advantage
- Full driving licence as a work van will be provided
- A satisfactory DBS check is required as part of this role
