Job Title: Repairs Operative (Skilled Multi Trade)
Purpose of Job
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To undertake repairs:
1. Undertake repairs
2. Specify tools and materials required to undertake a repair
3. Interact in a respectful way with JMB residents
4. Follow safe working practices
5. Take responsibility for a JMB vehicle
It is expected that the successful applicant can complete most of the following repairs:
· Renew bath, toilet and wash hand basin
· Renew kitchen sink and units
· Remedy leak
· Change a stop cock
· Change taps
· Remedy a blockage
· Gain entry and change a lock on a multi-secure door
· Fit an internal door
· Undertake tiling
· Redecorate a room

The JMB is a resident managed organisation and the service we provide to our council tenants and leaseholders is critically important.
We are a local community organisation and all of our team have a high-level of interaction with our residents.
Working outside standard hours is not routine, but will be required occasionally when we have an urgent repair problem to resolve.
Our intention is to grow our in-house repair team by taking on repairing empty properties, fire safety works and providing an out of hours’ emergency service. When the team takes on out-of-office hours repairs the post holder will participate on a rota, with the appropriate financial reward.
The post holder must be able to cope with the physical demands of the job. Reasonable adjustments will be made if possible
A driver’s license is essential.

· Salary: L8 £37,026 to £38,934 (The JMB operates a performance management system, which allows for incremental progression when performance is good.)
· Work van and tools are provided
· Hours: Full time 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday: 8am to 4.15pm)
· Annual Leave: Starting 27 days per year plus bank holidays
