About The Role

We are excited to be looking for a full time Player Care Officer to support our Academy and young professional players. The successful candidate will support the holistic development and welfare of our players. They will co-ordinate and the induction and transition processes, oversee the lifestyle programme and support the players throughout their time at the club and beyond. Their responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to organise life skills workshops for all players.
  • Hold regular meetings with players to support lifestyle management and personal development.
  • Attend and report to Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings on all aspects of player care and wellbeing.
  • Support players with their transitions into and out of the Academy programme.
  • Facilitate feedback from players and parents to contribute to the development of the programme.
  • Provide support for young players joining the club on loan and for FGR players going on loan at other clubs.
  • Continually update mental and emotional wellbeing action plan and ensure it is shared with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all players and staff have annual equality and diversity training.

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience of working with children and young people.
  • Previous experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Awareness of the emotional and mental health issues that affect young people.
  • Able to relate to and build rapport quickly and easily with young people.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work some evening and weekends.

Desirable

  • A Player Care or related qualification, such as Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support (TALS) through TASS or equivalent.
  • A good working knowledge of the EPPP framework and audit procedures.
