The Director of Education and Organisational Development (OD) role is a new leadership position in the Trust, reporting directly to our Chief People Officer. This is a broad strategic role, with significant Board exposure and responsibility for the design and delivery of a strategic plan for Culture and Leadership development and the development of a new Education Strategy. We are focused on improving employee health, wellbeing and experience through a progressive organisation development programme that enables a culture of compassionate leadership, employee engagement and psychological safety. Main duties of the job
We are seeking a creative and inclusive leader with senior OD experience gained in large and complex organisations and a passion to bring together teams as we create a strategic approach to OD and Education that will optimise the potential of our colleagues. Creating a culture of continuous growth and long-term commitment, you will enable our workforce to thrive in the face of future service demands and as we seek to reduce health inequalities within our populations. A visionary leader, you will devise an agile and innovative strategic approach to delivering accessible and impactful professional learning and cultural development opportunities across a dedicated, diverse and multi-professional workforce. Although NHS experience or exposure may be valuable, we are also keen to hear from those outsides of the health sector who have a track record of delivering world class OD solutions in large, complex, customer focused environments. Most of all you will share our values, commitment and ambition to shape high quality and sustainable health and care services for the future.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree Level Education or equivalent level of professional experience
- Post graduate qualification (MA/MSc) qualification in Organisational Development, Human Resource Development or Education and Training, or equivalent plus additional in-depth professional knowledge in a number of disciplines acquired through training and experience over an extended period
- Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience
Essential criteria
- In-depth knowledge and experience of modern OD interventions and techniques across multiple strands
- Experience of leading large scale organisational development, leadership development and culture change based on interpretation of national guidance or legislation
- Proven experience in strategic workforce and resource planning, talent attraction and development
- Experience of leading, coaching and building capability in all aspects of the Education and Training services and working at a strategic level in a complex environment and experience of working across multiple professions
- Significant experience of developing, executing and tracking the success of both OD interventions and Education and Training services and projects
- Proven experience of working at Senior/Executive level required and providing expert advice on culture, leadership and education to Board level
- Experience of leading/setting organisational policy and strategy based on interpretation of national guidance or legislation
- Experience of managing budgets and delivering cost improvement programmes
- Strong experience of carrying out service improvement and benchmarking exercises to analyse organisational performance
- Significant experience of developing, executing and tracking the success of Education and Training services and projects
- Demonstrable experience of managing contentious people issues effectively together with a high level of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal and communication skills

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
